You can restore your data from backup file if you have it, otherwise you need to start from an empty file. The most important part to keep your current expense records.

I would suggest to use Dropbox and setup backup folder for Simple Home Budget into dropbox folder on your computer. This way you will have your data backed up “in the cloud”.

Please do the following:

download and install Simple Home Budget from http://www.home-budget-software.com
download and install Dropbox http://db.tt/W4fesIGm - it will create DropBox folder in your My Documents folder
start Simple Home Budget and click Settings->Backup settings.
click on the yellow button folder and select My Documents and then Dropbox
set History Copies at least to 3

Now your data will be backed up by Simple Home Budget every time you close it and DropBox will back it up “into the cloud”.Similar Posts:

How to resolve transactions in “Unknown” category?

The “UNKNOWN” category means that there are transactions without assigned
category. As soon as you assign a category to these transactions, the “UNKNOWN”
category will disappear from the Categories tab. Do the following to resolve the transactions with “unknown” category:

- Click on the Categories tab
- Click on the Unknown category line
- At the bottom you will see the list of transactions (for selected month)
without assigned category.
- Right click each of these transactions and select “Change category” and then

How to move Simple Home Budget data from one computer to another?

The following should be the easiest way:

- Start Simple Home Budget on old computer and click File->Save a copy to… and save the file on connected flash drive

- On new computer, connect flash drive, download Simple Home Budget from http://www.home-budget-software.com/download , install it. Click File->Restore from backup and point to saved file on flash drive. Navigate couple months back and check that all transactions are there.

- Uninstall Simple Home Budget on old computer and register on new one.

Please check if one or more of the following activities last month applies to you:

You just used all your budget money, but still have to buy groceries today and there is still 10 days until the end of the month

Ok, what does really work then? I can tell for sure by using Simple Home Budget:

(The most important) Record all your expenses and income and have your money situation always before your eyes
Allow yourself to by items you want by checking how much money (net income) you had left from previous months

Simple Home Budget is now available in Greek. To change a language (or see the full list of languages available), simply select Settings->Language in the main menu.

Running Total Chart and Current Expenses

The overview tab provides a 12 months chart showing expenses, income, net income for each month and the running total as well.

All charts are shown in the same scale, so if your Running Total is running ‘high’ (congratulations!), income and expenses for each month may not be seen at their best. For this reason any of four graphs can be switched off by provided checkboxes on the toolbar above, so you can see the chart only, for example, for income, expenses and net income.Similar Posts:

Multilingual support was introduced in December 2009, and for the current moment Simple Home Budget is available in the following languages:

Spanish (professional translation ordered)
French (France and Canada variants) (user submitted)
Danish (user submitted)
Hungarian (user submitted)
Croatian (user submitted)
Chinese (user submitted)
Russian (translated myself)
Ukrainian (translated myself)

All users who provided their credentials in the translation received free licenses for Simple Home Budget.

If you like Simple Home Budget and your language is missing in the list, complete translation using on of available languages and as your baseline, send to us and you will get Simple Home Budget license free. You may also edit existing translation is you find it unsatisfying (or create your country variant of the same language) – you will still get Simple Home Budget license for free.
